Dr. Sherry Weaver’s path to veterinary medicine began early. At just 16 years old, she started working in local Atlanta veterinary clinics, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to animal care. She went on to attend Georgia Institute of Technology for her undergraduate studies and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, where she was inducted into the Phi Zeta honor society.
In 2000, Dr. Weaver opened the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake in a small shopping center in Woodstock, Georgia. Guided by her deep love for animals and her commitment to service, the practice grew; and today, it stands as a 24/7, high-end veterinary hospital serving North Georgia.
Dr. Weaver’s expertise and passion have extended beyond her practice. She was featured on The Dog Whisperer with a special rescue dog named Howie and wrote for Cesar Millan’s magazine.
With more than 33 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Weaver brings deep expertise in high-volume general practice, emergency response, surgery, and medical care. Dr. Weaver is Fear Free Certified and is actively working toward ABVP certification by 2029. She regularly attends leading industry conferences, including VMX and critical care conferences, as part of her dedication to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine.
Her primary focus now is mentoring young veterinarians and providing emergency care for critically ill patients. She also looks at every patient through all stages of life, from their first visits as puppies and kittens to their senior years, always asking what can be done now to support a healthier, happier future.
Dr. Weaver is a proud mother of three wonderful adult children, and, together with her husband, shares her life with two beloved Springer Spaniels.
Outside of work, she enjoys basketball, theater, and history, and finds joy in travel, reading, and tending to her bonsai trees. Above all else, she values her loved ones and cherishes time spent traveling and creating memories with friends and family.
